DSP56001RC27 in Stock at Oxygen Electronics

Oxygen Electronics has a limited amount of DSP56001RC27 (DSP Floating PT 24-Bit 27MHz 13.5MIPS 88-Pin CPGA) by Motorola.  This product line was eventually acquired by Freescale Semiconductor in 2004.

This product is obsolete and there are only a very few left on the market for this part.  This part is packaged in an 88 Pin CPGA (Ceramic Pin Grid Array).

Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA)

Much has been reported lately about the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement which is currently being negotiated by a select group of industrialized countries. These negotiations are characterized by being clouded in secrecy and subverting due process in many democracies.

While the intent is to develop an Agreement to regulate the flow of counterfeit products across international boarders, the preception is that is has become focused on IP associated with audio and visual media (music & movies). As the World Wide Web is the primary distribution channel for priated IP it is believed that regulation will focus on the internet.

While any agreements associated with curbing the flow of counterfeit IP international should be applauded, it is unfortunate that more focus is not being place on the semiconductor industry.

Oxygen Electronics' White Plains facilities were filmed this morning by the BBC as part of producing a piece to be aired on the BBC World on Thursday March 10th.  The BBC is exploring President Obama's initative to double exports over the next 5 years through the eyes of Oxygen Electroincs, an active exporter.

Business Week recently published a "Special Report" titled Combating Counterfeit Tech 'Epidemic'

In October of 2009, the United States District Court unsealed an eleven count indictment charging Mustafa Abjul Aljaff, Marwah Felahy (formerly Aljaff) and Neil Felahy with conspiracy, trafficking in counterfeit goods or services, and mail fraud.  These charges were in connection to the sale of counterfeit integrated circuits to the United State Navy.  The defendants are alleged to have operated the conspiracy through the following companies:

• Red Hat Distributors, Inc. a.k.a. RH Distributors
• MVP Micro, Inc.
• Force-One Electornics, Inc.
• Pentagon Components
• Labra, Inc.
• Labra Electroincs, INc
