Oxygen Electronics Participates in EMS' Science of Soldering

Exciting news, Oxygen Electronics has taken part in EMS’s Science of Soldering course for standards IPC-J-STD-001E and IPC-A-610E!  We discovered new scientific systems and processes which cater to modern day delicate electronics.

We’ve learned through this course, that many traditional soldering processes and evaluations are outdated and unacceptable.  These standards were developed over 50 years ago for soldering wires to vacuum tube sockets.

This course gave scientific reasoning behind its recommended procedures, making it fun and easy to understand. Armed with this updated information, Oxygen is now fully aware of the importance of up-to-date soldering practices, and the effect they will have on individual component as well as the industry as a whole.

We recommend this course to any and all. From plumbers to electrical engineers and everything in between, if you deal with solder this course will absolutely give you a better and scientific understanding behind solderability and the appropriate process for your application.  From the importance to your choice in flux to the temperature at which you solder, there is something to learn for all. FYI: Oxygen will soon be able to offer solderability testing in house as part of our advanced inspection capabilities!!
